This project involved the excavation of F001 and F002 solvent-contaminated soils adjacent to an active commercial facility. TREC was awarded this project due to a custom-designed stabilization system developed by TREC and a local foundation company. Utilizing a finger trench method TREC was able to remove the soils efficiently and safely with no disturbance to the building or the operations in the building. All work was overseen by the NYSDEC Hazardous Waste Division. Soils from the project were transported via railroad to the disposal facility where soils were incinerated and/or treated for disposal in a Subtitle D landfill.
